RMM2 - Can't reach the page

Hello All,

The server is an older server with an Intel RMM2 connected.

When I first got the server, the RMM2 I installed in it, worked

flawlessly.

The webpage came up, and I was able to remotely administer it,

just as I do my other RMM2 server.

However, I have had the server shut down for about four months.

Now I am getting ready to start doing lessons with it, and the

RMM2 webpage says:

Can't reach this page.

I click Ctrl+R

And after a few refreshes, it loads the page.

If I am lucky, it will allow me to log in.

But when I try any of the controls on the page, it gives me the

same error:

Can't reach this page.

I shut down the server

Removed both modules and placed them back on the Intel board.

And doing this did not change a thing.

What could be causing this issue?

Thanks, Wayne

It was the server board that was going bad on that part.

I have another board and another identical server.

I swapped over all the hardware to the other server case, and the server powered up, but would not boot up.

I then took the new board and placed it in the server case, and still the same thing.

Power on but not boot up.

I then took the original case I was using, put the new board in it.

And powered up, and I am now configuring the RAID drive.

All is good.

It was a bad motherboard this entire time.

(Luckily I had two more identical boards to swap out with.

Pretty cool for me being the only person in here answering my own questions.

Then again, I have been doing a LOT of that here lately.)

Take care all.

To update

I change Ethernet cables and still the same issue presents itself.

I allowed it to fulling boot into ESXi, and I tried to open it's page and still the same issue presents itself.

I am thinking the RMM2 could be bad, but which part? The NIC or Module or the board itself?

I was able to do a update on the the Firmware.

Even though I was at the current version

Firmware Version: 04.02.02

Firmware Build Number: 6717

I still did the update on it anyway.

I was unable to do it through the normal channels, which is by simply clicking the link and it loads in the framed browser window.

Instead, I had to open the link in a new window.

RMM Board information - /board.asp

Update Firmware - /fwupdate.asp

I was then able to upload the firmware, after 2 sets of refresh trying.

I was then able to click the button to update.

And now I am sitting on the page showing.

-----------------------

Notice

A firmware update is currently in progress. This may take some minutes. Please do NOT power off the device!

You should be automatically redirected to the login page within 4 minutes.

If this does not work, use this link to the login page.

-----------------------

It has tried to send me to the login page 3 times.

When I load the page, it shows the same message as above.

So, I am not sure if it has completed or not.

It has been about 15-minutes+ a few, since it started the update.

I loaded the page in Google Incognito, and it still shows the above message when I log into the RMM2.

So, I am not sure what is going on.

I am going to leave it alone for a little while longer and then shutdown the server.

It seems to me that the RMM2 module is most likely bad.

I have another server here I can test the module and NIC on, to see if the board is bad.

Then again, I have a brand new board here as well, that I can simply swap out and test.

Will post back later on.

Rebooted the server, even though it continued to show the message that it was still updating.

And wa-la.

The page loads and no more issues.

So, updating the Firmware of the RMM2, resolved this issue.

So I thought.

Issue still persist.
