Hi everyone,

The RealSense 400 Series data sheet has been updated to the November 2018 edition. It includes details of the new D435i camera model with IMU.

Interesting they added the IMU. This is especially good for small bots.

Was wondering Marty have you heard of anyone doing a 8K stereo cameras differenced and forwarded with

a HD aliased 16 bit luma and color image? The reason I ask is the luma distance and ability to see far ahead is important for

moving vehicles.

These current stereo cameras are OK for things that are close but at the low res they become very inaccurate pretty quickly. (as in 10 plus feet away)

I wished solid-state LiDAR will save the day but its very very expensive (currently at thousands per unit, one was offered at 8K)

and thanks to the phone market cameras are relatively cheap. You would think Intel with MobilEye would have something like this in the

pipeline at a consumable price. Also if someone from Intel is reading, are you going to be at CES? Movidius and or Open Vino Intel?

A camera that has 8k, 16-bit and Luma support seems to be the RED Weapon 8K VV.

In February 2017, Intel showcased on stage a retail store bot called Tally that had a RealSense camera and Lidar in the same bot. The bot would navigate around stores and check the stock on the shelves.

Mobileye is being used by Intel, though primarily in AI applications rather than RealSense cameras.
