( from the windows update log )
Update failed with Call error code = 0x802440022
Windows update is now disabled, but was at status "last update failed".
but still seems to try to restore the device.
I have tried Windows 10 reset network, removed all network devices, tried with a new wifi dongle, but after every reboot, the intel wifi device is back and in state Code 56.
Each adapter I reinstall either gives timeout when the wifi adapter is enabled, and installs successfully when I delete the wifi (again). But the newly installed network device never comes alive, allways ends up in state Code 56.
The wifi device might indeed be broken ( by the update ? it was functioning perfectly before ). All I want is my other network devices back . First thing seems to stop the wifi from reappearing after restart.
Anyone knows how this device keeps reappearing, or has the same device failure ?
