AAC Encode/Decode on Haswell?

Intel announced AAC encode/decode at IDF for 2014= http://s7.directupload.net/images/131204/2x3qbaav.png

Is this a Media SDK Feature and does it work on Haswell or is a next generation CPU required?

Hi Michael,

The new Media SDK audio APIs will be introduced as part of the Media SDK 2014 release, which will be available soon.

AAC encode/decode and mp3 decode is supported via the new API.

The audio codec implementation does not depend on any fixed function HW acceleration capabilities so it can be utilized on any platform.
