I’ve been having an issue with my i7-14700K running pretty high voltages when gaming. It often stays around 1.45v+ consistently, not just quick spikes, and temps go around 80–90c. Kinda worried how this will affect the CPU’s lifespan long term.
For some context:
When I first bought the processor, I was already aware of the instability issues people were mentioning, so before even installing it I updated my motherboard (AORUS B760M DDR4 Elite AX) to the F19 BIOS which had the early microcode update.
Even with that, I still had random freezes and shutdowns while gaming. Later on, I also got memory errors, like “GPU out of video memory” in Tekken 8, and even a BSOD.
Recently, I also tried the latest microcode (0x12F), but the sustained high voltage issue is still there.
Has anyone else experienced their 14700K sitting at 1.45v+ under gaming loads? Is this normal behavior, or should I be worried about long-term damage? Any advice would help.
