Hello Intel,
I have a very old copy here of a manual with order number 231917-002 that I still use and that I have used as a reference in research.
I am therefore looking for a digital (scanned) copy of the same manual.
Can you help?
Kind regards,
Mischa Baars, the Netherlands.

Hi Scott,
The 80386 PDF has a great format! It'll make looking up information easier even than with a normal scanned PDF. I was however looking for the 231917-002 manual, since that's (one of the) manual(s) right next to me. Can you help me to the 002 as well? But seeing the format of the 80386 manual, the 80387 manual in that same format might just do the trick even better. I would have to double check (and revise) all references already in place, but it would be worth it. I am after all already working almost two decades on the project.
Kind regards,
Mischa.

This is what I have in my archive (and now all in one place!). You'll have to google for other versions.

Hi Scott,
I already tried Google yesterday. That's where I found the 80387 (231917-001) manual, along with the 80386 (230985-003) and 80486 (240486-002) manual which I have next to me in printed version as well (and which I cannot attach because the filesize exceeds 23MB). I could not find 231917-001, that's why I am asking Intel.
Thank you for giving me what you have on the 80387. It is very much appreciated.
Best regards,
Mischa.

Hi Mischa,
Thank you for trusting Intel with your business. As with all good things, your product has reached the end of its interactive technical support life. I sincerely apologize for not providing the expected answer you were seeking. As such, I will be closing this inquiry.
Best regards,
Dean R.

Hi Dean,
I agree with you that the product manual is somewhat outdated, but it will serve its purpose as a reference manual perfectly. The 80387 is still an important part of any modern day processor and most if not all of the documented opcodes in this manual are as such still an important part of modern day code.
To close this inquiry, could you please have a look at Support Request 06224931. Maybe I posted it in the wrong place, because Intel closed the request without ever providing me with an answer. That leaves the question unanswered, which in turn leaves me with insufficient motivation to spend an entire life-time on the project. Maybe it's best to finish up after the software and documentation and forget about the hardware. I could make it a book.
Maybe I got it all wrong. Maybe it is most important that my own personal computer is functioning the way it should, and less important that yours is too.
Kind regards,
Mischa.
