CPU Upgrade Question

I have a very old Inspiron E1405 that still works fine with Windows 10. It has a T5600 Intel CPU duocore running at 1.8 Ghz. I'd like to upgrade the CPU but am unsure of what I can upgrade to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Adev2,

Please compare http://ark.intel.com/products/27254/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T5600-2M-Cache-1_83-GHz-667-MHz-FSB?q=T5600 T5600 with http://ark.intel.com/products/27257/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T7600-4M-Cache-2_33-GHz-667-MHz-FSB?q=T7600 T7600, they both has the similar specifications, so the latter might be your best choice for upgrade. Replacing processors within laptop computer is not an easy job, wrong operations might damage your laptop permanently, so everything is at your own risk. I just wish you good luck!

Please bear in mind that your computer model gives you integrated video which is not compatible with Windows® 10, this is regardless if your upgrade the processor.

Allan.
