Hi,

I have a issue with my drivers. Whenever i try to update my drivers the computor reboots and wont allow me to install them. I dont know if this is some problem in my bios or if there is something wrong with my components. The intel DSA cant even find my CPU when i try to update it online.

Any help or recomendation would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Albin Nordin

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Here is a link to the latest processor graphics driver:

You need to consult with Micro-Star for your bios update.

Are your bios video settings correct?

Why are you in Legacy Mode?  You should do some research on how to move to UEFI mode and make your file system GPT.  Explore MBR2GPT on the web.

Is your power supply adequate?  How many watts?

Is your cpu cooler clean and fan working?

My Bios settings are correct.

When i check my bios it says im in UEFI mode not Legacy.

Power supply is adequate. i think its a 1000W.

CPU Cooler is Clean and both fans are spining. Temps are good so it shouldnt be a issue.

So i need to contact Micro-Star is what your saying?

Your SSU report says LEGACY, not UEFI.

Yes, for help with THEIR bios, contact Micro-star.

I cant seem to get out of Legacy mode. My bios say im on UEFI but when i run Intel SSU it says im on Legacy. Could that be the problem? Also i saw that the Secure boot state is ON. Should it be?

There are two requirements for UEFI Boot, (1) the BIOS is configured for UEFI Boot and (2) the boot drive's partition table is in UEFI format (that is, configured with GPT partition table, NOT MBR partition table). The latter requirement is regularly the problem; people reuse drives.

What I suggest you try is using the MBR2GPT tool (provided as part of Windows 10 and Windows 11) and see if that gets UEFI boot going.

Hope this helps,

P.S. I just noticed your SSU report is indicating that your BIOS and ME firmware needs to be updated. You are on BIOS 7E06v1E and the latest is 7E06v1G. You can download this update from here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-P-WIFI-DDR4/support. Note that there is also a certificate update for the ME that you must install. Use the links provided in the box for the 7E06v1G BIOS release to download the update packages. Note that there is a video showing how to install this update here: MSI® HOW-TO use M-FLASH for BIOS.
