Comparing processors

Guys,

Can somebody tell me the difference between an Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 1.86 GHz & an i5-540M 2.53GHz processor? I don't have any chipset or bus details which would no doubt help you to give a more detailed answer. For good measure I'm going to throw an i7-640LM 2.13GHz into the mix as well.

Any assistance - greatly appreciated.
