Compatibility Ivy Brige Processors with Windows XP SP3

Hi everybody,

I just installed a Core i7 Ivy Bridge (3rd generation) as I upgraded it from a Core i5 Sandy Bridge (2nd generation), until then my computer worked perfectly under Windows XP professionnal SP3, then after changing my processor I got a blue screen when I rebooted my computer.

I already checked that my gigabyte motherboard with an Intel P67 chipset is compatible with windows XP and Ivy Bridge processors.

I tried to fix Windows XP using the standard procedure with the installation CD but it didn't work.

So can you tell me if there is any known problems/solutions concerning compatibility between Ivy Bridge processors and Windows XP ?

Respectfully.

We have not received nor seen any compatibility conflict in regards to any Operating System in specific when referring to Intel® processors; the compatibility of the Operating System is determined by the specific motherboard model number.

For example, here is the compatibility list for the Intel(R) Desktop Boards: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-008326.htm Desktop Boards — Supported operating systems
