I have an i5 cpu that is not compatible wit teamgroup ram 6400 MHz but is with my asus board, I need a cpu that will work my new ram since a cpu will be much cheaper than ram.

This is a motherboard memory configuration issue rather than being a CPU issue.

If you have not already done so update your drivers to the latest available on the ASUS support website. In particular the Intel chipset, Management Engine Interface and Serial IO Drivers. Also update your BIOS to the most recent version.

Running memory of this speed will require XMP to be enabled in the BIOS.

The ASUS support website for your motherboard will have a Memory Support section. Check if  your 6400 ram is listed. For example the graphic below shows the listing for teamgroup ram for an ASUS motherboard, yours may be different.

Provided that XMP is enabled, the Part No. and Size matches exactly, and the memory is in the slots indicated the motherboard should support the memory. In the Advanced Mode->Ai Tweaker section of the BIOS the Ai Overclock Tuner setting should be XMP I.

If your memory is not listed as supported, the Ai Overclock Tuner setting should be XMP II.
