Current/EDP Limit Throttling 14700kf

Hi.
Please tell me what causes Current/EDP Limit Throttling? Screenshot is from stress test just to visualize, but it is also appearing while gaming - above 90% of time. I think it causes FPS drops/instability in games(?) Any solutions? Why does it happen and what does it mean?
Bios has installed F29e (newest) version which brings intel default settings, and they are set. Another problem is i can't change ICCMAX in Intel XTU ( Unknown error occurs - screenshot), and other settings such as voltage offset etc. Please help

Hello shaay,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

You may check this related article on what causes Current/EDP Limit Throttling:

Current /EDP Limit Throttling and Power Limit Throttling Indicators in the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility

To dig in deeper and be able to provide an effective recommendation, I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies.

1) Please confirm if this is the actual system device that you have: B660 DS3H DDR4

2) Which game(s) is getting above 90% and FPS drops/instability?

Additionally, I highly appreciate you sharing your system configuration so I can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  • Click Save (.txt)

I will wait for your reply.

Best regards,

Jeanette C.
