Difference between socket rpga988 and FCBGA1224??

I have an Intel core i3 2328m socket rpga 988 on my laptop and I want to upgrade it with an Intel core i7 3612QM. I searched on the internet in my laptop's webpage and I found that i7 3612qm will fit and work but I found out in Google that i7 has socket FCBGA1224. Can I upgrade it? (My motherboard can work with 2nd and 3rd gen.)

No, stop now. Before you can consider upgrading your processor you have to ask your motherboard/laptop manufacturer what processors THEIR BIOS SUPPORTS. Then, you can select from those processors.

And, that is only possible if your existing processor is not soldered to the motherboard.

An upgrade processor must be socket, chipset, and bios compatible.

No, you cannot use a BGA socketed processor to upgrade.

I asked my laptop manufacturer and they said that Intel core i5 3210m, i7 3612qm and i7 3730qm Can work with my motherboard and bios. Also my processor is not soldered. Chipset is HN76. And I'm confused because I found 3612qm but i found out that the socket is different. So is it better to find an i7 3630qm which has rpga socket?

If you want the i7-3630qm, yes you can use that. If you look at the link I provided above, you will see that the 3612qm comes in support for two different sockets (look under package specifications). You want the PGA988 socketed processor.
