I am installing a Skylake i7-6700K on Gigabyte GA 170z Gaming 7 board. I am concerned by the amount of pressure needed to depress the lever. I have some experience with this combination as I have already damaged one board and one processor. I suppose it would be possible to insert the CPU incorrectly but I am not sure how. I spent time with Gigabyte support and they sound as though they might repair the board but they had no suggestions on what I am doing wrong. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
