So I just bought an i7 4790k and I'm having overheating problems (45°c idle- around 85-90 °c gaming or with stress test) I already updated bios to the latest version, checked the stock cooler, but nothing works.
My specs:
Asus Maximus VII Ranger
Kingston HyperX Fury 4gbx3 1600MHz
SSD Kingston 240gb with Windows 10 Pro
Evga GTX 970 4gb

Hello bren94,
Is the system over clocked?
Could you please post the RAM part number?
Make sure your RAM is running at 1333/1600 MHz, DDR3L-1333/1600MHz @ 1.5V
Also, I recommend applying new thermal paste on the processor, are you using a liquid cooler or the heatsink.
Please run the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit- Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool
I will appreciate if you could provide me with the result.
