Are there any differences in supported instructions between the Core i3, i5, and i7?

Yes, although i am only comparing the highest I7 to the lowest i3. And teh difference is that the i7 has the AES New Instructions whilst the i3 does not. Otherwise the both have SSE4.2. You can check all the specs yourself here: http://ark.intel.com/
