Intel Core i 7

A question quite weird though. I’m planning to buy a laptop powered by Intel i 7 11th gen. I couldn’t think of another platform where I could have an idea of how long it can last (starting 2021). My old laptop is an Intel i 5 powered machine that works perfectly after 8 years (since 2014). Will i 7 powered machines be compatible for new OS, new features and (not a gamer) new updates for some 10 years?

Hello ArmenSargsean

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.  The lifespan of a component depends on different factors, you can check with the laptop manufacturer for an approximate, they can give you more information on their products.

Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel. Thank you for your understanding.
