Hi
I have an Intel NUC8i7HVK and use Windows 11.
In Device security I have been getting the message that "Secure Boot is on but your device does not support the automated update due to hardware or firmware limitations. Contact your device manufacturer for assistance"
I had received the updated Secure Boot Certificate in a Windows update.
I updated the BIOS to the latest version using HN0070.bio.
Now when I look in the Device Security, the previous Secure Boot message has gone but now it says "Standard hardware security not supported"
If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. I'm not even sure if I'm asking in the right place.
Steve

Hi @StephenG
Lot of information about this subject you may find in @AlHill thread Updating Secure Boot certificates/keys
I for my self updated my Hades Canyon NUC using Garlin's scripts which the latest version v2026.06.08 you may download to your computer. Once downloaded, unzip the SecureBoot-CA-2023-Updates.v2026.06.08.zip in your C: root directory.
(BTW, if you interested in reading the all history in Garlin's thread, you find it here: garlin's PowerShell scripts for updating Secure Boot CA 2023 ).
The procedure I've used:
1. Boot into BIOS.
2. Enter BIOS Advanced > Boot > Secure Boot
3. With Secure Boot set to On, mark "V" in Clear Secure Boot Data line.
4. Click on F10 and "Yes" to save the settings and exit to Windows.
5. Enter to SecureBoot-CA-2023-Updates.v2026.06.08 directory.
6. Double click on the Update-UEFI.bat. Terminal screen will open and the update process will start.
7. Once update process finishes, reboot your NUC.
8. Enter to SecureBoot-CA-2023-Updates.v2026.06.08 directory.
9. Double click on the Check-UEFI.bat.
10. Read the results. Verify the successed update.
11. The Secure Boot Status in Windows Device Security shall be:
Hope this helps

Thank you Leon
After failed help from ASUS re my nuk8i7HVK bios secure boot not accepting 2023 cert update, your advice using Garland's script worked perfectly.
I really appreciate your help.

Hi @BRhodes
I'm glad that it worked for you. FYI, using the same method I've successfully updated the certificates for other NUCs as well: NUC6i5SYH, NUC7i5BNH, NUC7i7DNHE, NUC8i7INH, NUC8i7BEH.
In the meantime the Garlin's script has new revision V2026.06.24

Please note that as of January 16, 2024, technical and warranty support for Intel NUC systems, including the NUC 7 through NUC 13 has transitioned to ASUS. For assistance with your Intel NUC , you will need to contact ASUS directly.
Please visit ASUS’s support page: ASUS Support or call their support number at 1800-2090365.
So, I regret to inform you that, due to Intel's current policies, we are unable to provide direct support for this Intel NUC.
As there is no further action Intel can take. I am closing this Thread. This thread will no longer be monitored.

If post of LeonWaksman TheGenious wont help...
...prepare to buy new N.U.C. with mGPU (mobile GPU; dGPUm)
...long time they supported Your hardware... sometimes after 10 years there is no more possibility to upgrade for You old equipment
into latest standards like security, requirements increase surely after 10 years to operate latest Operating Systems...
Sometimes we must say bye-bye and buy N.U.C.15 with Mobile GPU or other new equipment 2026 like available to buy.
Goodluck, may Your NUC8 works on Windows11 as long as it able, with help of LeonWaksman TheGenious already posted for You.
Do not ignore security warning, sooner or later prepare for latest hardware to buy somewhere, as replacement,
probably to year 2030 You wont update Windows11 as should
do not loose Your datas, and make backup of files and folders once a month with value if something got for You.
Goodluck.
