Hello,
Starting about a month or two back maybe longer, I've been having issues with random crashes while playing Rust or PUBG. For Rust, the crashes are erratic, not really conforming to a specific pattern. Game will just shut down out of nowhere after 1 to 20 mins of play.
PUBG however is way more predictable. I'm getting a crash either when entering the starting game lobby, or right after that when everyone enters the plane.
I've also experienced 4 or 5 times my computer completely bricking, not even a blue screen, just straight to black and then it powers off.
I was made aware of potential problems with 14th gen processors, so here I am.
Test attached.

Hi, WinTroll.
Thank you for posting in our Community and providing details about the issues you're facing with your Intel® Core™ i9-14900KF processor. From what you’ve described, it seems like the crashes are somewhat random with Rust and more predictable with PUBG. Additionally, the instances where your system shuts down entirely, without even showing a blue screen, are particularly concerning. This could be indicative of several underlying issues, such as system instability, power delivery concerns, or even thermal throttling.
- Have you made any hardware or software changes (such as new game installations, driver updates, or system configurations) around the time the crashes started occurring? This can help pinpoint whether the issue was triggered by a specific change.
- You mentioned the crashes are random in Rust, but more predictable in PUBG. Could you clarify whether the crashes in PUBG occur only in the specific lobby or also during gameplay after entering the plane? Does Rust crash under specific conditions, like a certain in-game setting or location?
- Have you monitored your system’s temperature (CPU and GPU) during gameplay? Overheating could potentially cause crashes or shutdowns, especially under load. If so, are temperatures within safe ranges?
- Have you performed any memory diagnostics, or do you suspect there could be an issue with your RAM? A bad RAM module could cause system instability under load.
- Since the issue appears during gaming, have you run any stress tests on your CPU or GPU to see if they show any signs of instability or overheating?
Also, if you've already performed any troubleshooting steps or applied specific fixes that seemed to have worked temporarily, please share those as well. This will help us pinpoint the root cause and guide you toward a solution.
Looking forward to hearing from you and assisting you further
Have a nice day!
