Low CPU frequency on Intel i9 when running a python program

CPU frequency can drops below 1GHz when running a python program. Before running, its' up to 3.8GHz. It seems this behavior only exists on i9, and not found in i7/i5. Have tried editing power plan from control panel, but there's no use.

Hello Jacalyn,

Thank you for posting in our communities.

To help me further identify the problem and offer you a solution, kindly provide the following details:

  • To confirm, does this issue only happen with Python? And when did the issue start?
  • What Python version are you using? If possible, please share the link to where you downloaded it.
  • Have you made any changes before the issue occurs?
  • What are the troubleshooting steps that you have performed? so we can avoid repeating them.
  • How about with other applications? Is the frequency normal?
  • And again to confirm, the complete model of your processor is the i9-10990K?

We look forward to your response!

Thank you, and have a great day ahead!

Best regards,
