Operations supported by I/OAT DMA

Hi, I am using the Xeon E5-2640 CPU with Ubuntu 18.04 (Linux kernel 5.4.0). I have enabled the I/OAT at BIOS and ioatdma module can be found. I tried to use the two functions: async_memcpy and async_xor_val from Asynchronous Transfers/Transforms API but the results indicate that they cannot find a DMA channel to carry the operations.  My question is whether Xeon CPU still supports this async_tx API. If not, which function is supported by I/OAT in Xeon and what is the API? Thanks.

Hello harryji,

Thank you for posting in the Intel Community.

Due to the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2640 (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/64591/intel-xeon-processor-e52640-15m-cache-2-50-ghz-7-20-gts-intel-qpi.html) product discontinuance status, Intel Customer Service no longer supports inquiries for it, but perhaps fellow community members have the knowledge to jump in and help

Hope this helps.
