Processor upgrade

I have this processor. Intel(r) core(tm) i7-3720qm cpu @ 2.60ghz 2.60 ghz to a 5th generation processor or even higher. I can't run my Ableton 12 on a 3rd generation. It has to be 5 or above!

So do I have the option to buy a new processor to get Ableton 12 to run?

No can do.  Your processor is soldered to the motherboard.

 

Sorry, you need to upgrade your hardware.

I was just about to upgrade from my laptop to a PC for home use but looks like I need a new laptop as well to run it on. Not to worry.
