Processor upgrade

The specs of my Leonite P5LP-LE motherboard says that I can use any socket T Intel processor, The motherboard has Northbridge 945G and Southbridge ICH7DH. The processor that I want to upgrade is a Pentium 4 641, running at 3.2ghz with a 800nhz side bus. The processor that I tried to install is a Pentium D, running at the same speeds. The BIOS found it fine but it couldn’t find the boor disk. Everything that I could find says that the chips are compatible, anyone have any suggestions, comments or hints?

And, with all of that information, you still have to contact the motherboard manufacturer and ask them what processors are supported by their bios. Then, you can select from those.

 

An upgrade processor must be socket, chipset, AND BIOS COMPATIBLE. And that is only if the original processor is not soldered to the motherboard.
