Quad Node system Processor selection

In reference to R2208LT2HKC4 Quad Node server 2U system, can I install two E5-4620 processors and at a later time install two - E5-4650 processors? If this is possible, what are the negatives to a configuration with mixed processors as described above or the justification & benefits of the E5-4650? I thank you in advance for your contribution.

Hello Ron,

As long as the processors are listed in the compatibility list of the server unit it's ok. However, to achieve a more reliable performance is recommended to use a processor with the same model and stepping to avoid any kind of problems with the microcode or even error messages.
