Hello seb0564,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your Intel® Core™ i5-14600KF experiencing overheating issues. Please allow me to investigate this matter further so I can provide the appropriate support.
Kindly provide the following information:
- What is the exact make and model of the motherboard?
- Is there any physical damage on the processor?
- What is the exact make and model of the RAM?
- Has the processor been overclocked? Please note that if the system was overclocked including voltage or frequency adjustments beyond the processor’s supported specifications the warranty may be voided.
- To determine the best path forward, could you confirm when the processor was purchased?
- If it was within the last 30 days, Intel’s policy recommends contacting your place of purchase directly for warranty claims. However, I’d like to offer some troubleshooting steps first to help isolate the issue before directing you to your retailer.
- Have you tried using the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool?
- Do the temperature fluctuations occur while the system is idle or when running applications?
Once I have all the information above, I’ll be able to proceed with the next steps to properly investigate and assist you with your concern.
I’ll be waiting for your response so we can continue working on resolving this issue.
Thank you and have a great day!
Regards,
John M.

Hello seb0564,
Thank you for responding and providing the IPDT result, which shows no errors. However, since you’re still experiencing overheating issues with your system, I recommend following the steps in the article “Overheating Symptoms and Troubleshooting for Intel® Boxed Processors” to help isolate the problem.
Additionally, I’d like to request an SSU report so I can review your system drivers and check if any updates are needed.
Regards,
John M.

Hello seb0564,
Thank you for providing the requested information. Upon further checking, it appears that you’re currently using BIOS version M.91. To proceed with the investigation, I highly recommend updating the BIOS to the latest version so we can properly isolate the issue.
Kindly confirm if your motherboard is the PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI. If so, please update the BIOS to version 7E07vM9.
Once the BIOS update is complete, please let me know if the issue still persists.
Regards,
John M.
