Warning ... Asus mobo 13th/14th gen users?

I have noticed quite a few users of Asus mobos using K-based processors updating to the new 0x129 bios with the microcode fix. Asus specifically says:

"The new BIOS includes Intel microcode 0x129 and adjusts the factory default settings for the non-K processors, enhancing the stability of Intel Core 13th and 14th gen desktop processors."

Why are many 13K and 14K users updating to this bios? I've just talked to Asus and they do NOT recommend it at all. Its BETA software with bugs and only meant for non-k cpus.

The proper k-based microcode will come "later this year" as I've just been told with "newer features, etc". They did not elaborate.

No the bios description Say 0x129 ***AND*** adjusts the factory default settings for the non-K processors. I am not english but the ***AND*** IS very important...

And why release a bios for one specific CPU ? I have never see that...

You are correct. The ASUS BIOS updates released in August 2024 are the ones that contain the 0x129 microcode update. These updates were Beta for a short while and have now become final. In some cases the final BIOS has a different number to the Beta. I tend to avoid the Beta BIOS updates and wait for the final versions. I am using the August final version with a K processor and it works perfectly.
