Weird question on 12700K under warranty.

Ok so this might be a weird one but I had to ask. A while back I sold my 12700K on ebay to a scammer. They claimed the CPU was defective (it was not) and demanded a return/refund. As per ebay policy I was forced to accept the return and what was sent back was not my chip. It was a 12700K, but the serial didn't match. After a long fight with ebay support I finally won that case and it was closed. Now I have this CPU that the scammer sent to me that looks intact, but I'm afraid to plug it into anything for fear of it being tampered with somehow (worst case scenario). Best case scenario it is defective and was throwing BSODs as they claim, and they tried to scam a new CPU out of me to replace it which I don't know why if it was under warranty. Since I am not the original owner, is there any way I can send to Intel to have it checked out and possibly replaced under the warranty that the site says expires 2026? Thanks in advance!
