Which non-Xeon (if any) processors support AVX512 and GFNI?

I'm specifically looking for processors that support the VGF2P8AFFINEQB instruction.

Hi @rcgldr,

You're absolutely correct. Based on my review, both Ice Lake and Tiger Lake processors support AVX-512 and GFNI instructions, including the VGF2P8AFFINEQB instruction.

The Intel Core i5-1035G1 you mentioned is part of the Ice Lake family and does support these instruction sets. According to the documentation (Section 2.4.12, Page 37), Tiger Lake processors primarily found in mobile devices also support these features. Examples include:

  • Intel Core i7-1185G7
  • Intel Core i7-1165G7
  • Intel Core i5-1135G7

Let me know if you need more detailed information or if this sufficiently answers your inquiry.

Best regards,

The issue I'm facing is none of the processor spec sheets mention GFNI, only AES_NI, which not GFNI.

Looks like IceLake are the only Intel processors that support AVX512 and GFNI.

Hi @rcgldr,

Allow me to check this internally. I will provide an update here once the information becomes available. It appears that the requested details are not publicly accessible at this time. Based on my current checks, I can only view Xeon on my end. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible with further updates.

At least one mobile processor, Intel Core i5-1035G1 works with VGF2P8AFFINEQB and ZMM registers (as reported at Intel ISA-L github).

What I did is look at instruction sets versus processor to find that like Ice Lake and Tiger Lake processors support AVX512 and GFNI , so I somewhat answered my own question, but chose Randy's answer as the accepted solution since he confirmed what I had found out.
