XTU Log Disabling Not working

Hello!

The XTU was generating huge log files.  I updated to the latest version which has a GUI, and under advanced options hit "disable logging."  However, it's still generating logs--just rather than a few massive files that add up to 30+GB, it's generating hundreds of 1KB files with nothing in them but: "2023/02/18-10:09:50.6961|IMP] IntelOverclockingSDK Version 6.5.1.371."

It appears to be generating one file every 10 seconds.

How do I get this to stop?   System info in attached image to the extent it's relevant.

so you think it's a bug? i thought there somewhere a different option for logging....

Anyway, there are two thing to not produce log files:

If the "File logging" shows up same as on my screenshot , then that is your culprit.

Thanks for the reply!  The disable logging box is checked like in the photo, and under file logging it has a play button rather than the stop square.  I did try playing around with the file logging button a bit, and it was doing the same thing with both settings.  Not sure if it's a bug or what--it seems like the whole logging issue is a recurring issue that should itself be considered a bug, no reasonable computer program that mostly runs in the background should generate gigabytes and gigabytes of logs.  Even linux systems delete logs by default after the period of time specified in the log manager.  In any event, I've uninstalled it for now.

i actually left the "Disable logging" box checked, and on the next startup the XTU crashed
have you tried with that box unchecked, but also to click on the 'play' button so that it shows 'stop'?

bcoz that is what i had from the beginning on, and no log files were created under C:\ProgramData\Intel\Intel Extreme Tuning Utility\Monitor Logs

Is that also the folder you get the logs in? if so, what happens if you change the log interval , which on the screenshot is '1000ms' to let's say 5000ms which is the max value?

hmm, and my version of XTU is exactly same as yours 7.10.0.65

Anyway, when i change the value to 5000ms , this here barely moves:

 but it get's crazy when i switch to 100ms

Well, if you don't need XTU you could just disable the startup for it (in Task manager the 'Startup' tab), and see what happens.
