It is possible that this tool is not fully compatible with Microsoft* Windows* 8, keep in mind that this is a very new operating system that is just about to be released.
So Intel might need to release a newer version, I would suggest waiting couple of weeks to see if Intel releases an update of the tool.

GregK, I was able to install the Intel turbo boost 2.6 on windows 64bit. Something very important is that this utility works only on Windows 8 legacy desktop.
