Good day, I'm Csaba Pauer and I have a question why the Intel Core i7-7700K processors are not compatible with Windows 11. My problem with the whole thing is that the motherboard and everything else meets the requirements, but my processor doesn't. Why are they only compatible from the 8th-9th generation? When I looked into it, my processor core and it would meet the requirements, but they only allowed the requirements. I understand that they don't allow older processors because they are really not compatible with it, but seriously, why wouldn't it be a 7th generation processor?

The decision about excluding some Intel processors from the Windows 11 compatibility list was made by Microsoft. The cutoff point was 8th gen which is hard on 7th gen CPU owners like yourself. You could consider workarounds which may still enable Windows 11 to be installed with 7th gen processors. A less secure PC could be a result. The issue is not just processors but the support that motherboards provide or do not provide for features such as Secure Boot and TPM 2.0.
The alternative would be a motherboard, CPU and memory upgrade. Even the lower cost Intel processors like the Core i5-12400 would be a significant improvement on what you have now. The issue currently of course is rising memory costs.
