software compatibility on 64bit processor

Hi,

I am having a question on OS & other software compatibility on 64 bit hardware platform (Laptop, PC, and server). If I install 32 bit OS on 64 bit processor, how it will works? How it different to 64bit OS on 64 bit processor? How it effect performances? how the memory manager will works?

yes. In general any 32 bit program runs slightly faster than a 64 bit program on a 64 bit platform, given the same CPU. (applies to windows too)
