Read text, Audio, images, video from SD Card on DE1 Nios

Hello, 

 

I want use a 512MB SD card class 6 for my DE1 board. Is it compatible? 

 

I have gone through the documentation of SD core IP available in Qsys. But I have following queries: 

 

- how to get the starting address of individual files, if I have multiple jpeg, txt, audio files in card? 

- As we get the data in clusters from SD card, how to process it for display on VGA (if its jpeg/bmp). I know about storing images in SRAM. We store the one pixel bits at one address and while reading just take each pixel out and display. But the the storage of different file formats(jpeg/bmp) goes in SD card.
