Hi i have a TOSHIBA Satellite C850-C030 with the Pentium b960 and HD graphics 3000 and i want to upgrade it to an Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPU but i don't know if it might work or not because of the ram or the bios or the motherboard. So will it work or is it not a good idea ?
It is really old but in a good shape and functioning but I need more cores for gaming cause my PC crashes because of processes on windows 10.
I need the i5 for the recent OpenCL and OpenGL as these can run Minecraft latest versions and have HD graphics 4000.

You need to ask the motherboard/system manufacturer if their Bios supports that processor.
Even if it does, you will not be pleased with its performance on W10.
Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]
