Hello,
I recently purchased a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900HX CPU, and according to the documentation I found, the "DDR Running Average Power Limit (DDR RAPL)" has been deprecated. You can refer to the following link for more details: https://edc.intel.com/content/www/br/pt/design/products/platforms/details/raptor-lake-s/13th-generation-core-processors-datasheet-volume-1-of-2/006/deprecated-technologies/
Previously, I explicitly used DDR RAPL on an older Intel® Core™ i7-8550U Processor to monitor DDR energy. However, since it is no longer available on newer Intel CPUs, I would like to ask whether it has been incorporated into other domains, such as 'psys,' or not.
I have not found any documentation explicitly mentioning this, which is why I am reaching out for clarification.
For your reference, the "$ powercap-info -p intel-rapl" command reports the following zones:
- Zone 0
-- name: package-0
-- Zone 0:0
--- name: core
-- Zone 0:1
--- name: uncore
- Zone 1
-- name: psys
To me, it seems that if I want to sum up the entire energy reported by the CPU in my case, it would be psys + package-0, considering that package-0 already includes the core and uncore. However, I'm uncertain about the DDR. Is this assessment/formula correct? Please confirm/comment.
Thank you!
