Hi all.
I'm wanting to reduce my idle and load temperatures so that I can run 4 instances of MATLAB on my 4790k for calculations that take days at a time to finish.
Current build:
Maximus VII Formula
i7 4790k @ 4.4Ghz (turbo boost on)
32GB (4x8) DDR3 @ 2400Mhz CL10 G.Skill Trident X.
850 Pro SSD
H240-X Liquid Cooling
Be Quiet ATX Case w/ 2 intake and 1 exhaust fan.
Ambient Room Temp: 12C
Idle Temp: 26C-28C
Full Load Temps: 55C to 60C - fluctuations up to 65C.
I've installed the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and have been slowly lowering my core voltage down from the stock 1.27 to currently 1.07. I use a 10 min stress test and then run 4 instances of matlab for an hour or so to make sure things are stable.
I'm wondering if I need to be lowering any other settings (yet still maintain 4.4 Ghz) to help get my temperatures down, such as my Processor Cache Voltage?
