My system:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz OC 4,7 GHz
Mainboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F-Gaming, Intel Z370 Chipset
RAM: 32 GB (4x8) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR-4, 3000 MHz
Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 22H2
Installation 16.08.2020
OS-build 19045.2311
Performance Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0
BIOS-Version 0430 x64
Build 11/01/2017
EC-Version MBEC-Z370-0201
ME-Firmware Version 11.8.50.3399
Secure Boot active

Want to activate HT - as far as I know CPU, Chipset and MB do support HT

But BIOS tells me under CPU-Configuration:

"Hyperthreading - Technology not supported"

but further down find the item

"Hyperthreading  - disaled/enabled"

My Question: is it possible  to enable HT  - simply by the using the HT-switch

or does my CPU not support it?

THX in advance

You processor supports hyper-threading.  Look under "advanced technologies":

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/126684/intel-core-i7-8700k-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz.html

For bios issues, contact asus for support.

It is possible there is an issue with the BIOS, ME firmware and/or chipset and ME drivers. So installing the latest versions from the ASUS support page for the ROG STRIX Z370-F-Gaming might solve it.

Before doing any BIOS or ME firmware updates it is preferable to first install the latest Intel chipset driver (version 10.1.18019.8144) and the latest Management Engine Interface driver (version 1914.12.0.1256)  in that order.

Next from the BIOS section use the MEUpdateTool to upgrade the ME firmware to version 11.8.80.3746v5.

The latest BIOS is 3004 and should be installed last. Note that installing an updated BIOS will over-write any customised settings you may have made. Take a note of these so that they can be reinstated after the BIOS update.

Did an update of the chipset driver and MEI driver. Needed no BIOS-update, 'cause only the number of my version is displayed as 0430 instead of 3004.

Managed to enable HT then.

THX
