Hai,
purchased original intel cpu+mobo in Jan 2005 and both has reached EOIS. System has been working fine till recently, but now showing problems whenever any PCI component is added. Either XP will not shut down, or added component's driver will not work properly or will get 'cmos checksum bad' message every time i boot and so on..The local techie told me that my mobo is faulty. My cpu is still working fine and i feel no need to change it since it meets all my requirements. So i need to find a third party mobo as Intel original is no more avalable and for that i need to identify my cpu and i am having nightmares doing that.Having spent more than 24 hours in internet trying to figure it out, and am getting more confused and frustrated by time.
There is no exact match between....
- cpu name
- processor number
- sSpec number
- box part number
- Bus/Core ratio or Multiplier
- TDP etc..
ANY HELP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED. Adding details here...

hai mukata thanks for the reply. But it is not correct. The box in which it came has 'Pentium 4 Processor 3E GHz, 1 Mb L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB' written on it(see photos uploaded in my first post). So it cannot be just '3 Ghz'. The problem with '3E GHz' specification in Intel site is that it lacks CPU Multiplier, but EVEREST Home Edition says my cpu has 15.0x multiplier. Also if you search using Box Part Number or sSpec Number as seen in the package, 3E GHz is not listed in the site. Any ideas?

Thats an older one, buy you have provided all the right data
CMOS checksum bad sounds like a dead cmos battery allowing the CMOS to be corrupted with AC is removed and loosing any CMOS settings.

hai Doc_SilverCreek thanks for the reply. But it is not correct. As per EVEREST Home Edition, the Package Size of my cpu is 35.0 mm x 35.0 mm but the one stated in the link given by you is 37.5mm x 37.5mm. Also the box came with 'Pentium 4 Processor 3E GHz, 1 Mb L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB' (see photos in my first posting) written on it and that has no Processor Number in the site. So it cannot be 530 / 530j. The problem with '3E GHz' specification in Intel site is that it lacks CPU Multiplier, but EVEREST Home Edition says my cpu has 15.0x multiplier. So it comes down to the report of a piece of freeware software or the manufacture specification page?
I have seen the Intel page be wrong before -- once
i have seen everest report a Xeon WSM 5695 as a PIII
