Problem with new build

I installed a G530 into an H61 board and while updating the fresh install of windows the screen turned gray with lines running through it like static. I did a hard reset and the screen turned pink on boot. I rechecked the heatsink and checked the temp of the cpu in the bios. It was reading 31c. I booted it again and about an hour in the screen turned black with a message of 'frequency out of range'. I can only assume that the gpu in the chip is overheating but I don't know how to monitor it and seeing as how the cpu is so low on temps I don't see how the gpu in it can be much higher.

Please help.

The problem you are having could be related to various causes, but overheating does not seem to be the case.

Reinstalling the driver would be the first step to begin troubleshooting:

Then, please try using a different monitor on the system, and if possible, try reloading the OS.

Well I reinstalled windows, used your link to update the driver beyond what is on the mobo CD and it still crashed with no updates to windows.

In that case, we might be dealing with a deffective port, or deffective graphics controller. I'd recommend contacting the system manufacturer for warranty purposes.

Well, an update. I received a replacement motherboard and it turns out it was defective. 2 hours in and no crash. So relieved.
