Ram mhz vs mt/s.????? meaning.??

so what does MHz and MT/s mean in terms of Ram frequency and speed.???

1mhz =2mt/s
thts what i gathered that At Double data rate DDR 1Mhz completes two cycles or mega transfers...so 1600mhz=3200MT/s...?????

please explain.
