Which processor does my motherboard handle?

This is my first notebook: Toshiba A300-1JH
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5750
Motherboard: Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family

After more than 15 years I was thinking of changing the processor in it. (To increase performance)

My question is, can the notebook work with both processors below?
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7800
Intel® Core™2 Extreme Processor X7900

I've been through the SSD replacement for a few years now.
But I still inquired on other forums / community support sites and found adequate help.

I ordered the Intel T7800 processor, it arrived, I installed it yesterday and it works flawlessly. There is also a noticeable improvement in performance.

Dear @AlHill, thanks for the big nothing. I hope your other fifteen thousand comments were more useful.

Get rid of this device and get something made in this decade.  Upgrading willl do you absolutely no good and provide no benefit.

Yes, you do.  You are wasting time and money.  Of course, it is yours to waste.

Also, asking which processors are supported by you bios is something we cannot answer.  Only toshiba can tell you what their bios supports.   If you think you can get away with just socket compatible, you are incorrect.

Question:  If the laptop is near and dear, why remove its heart?  You will get far more performance by replacing the hdd with an ssd (provided your device supports sata mode ahci).
