Thank you very much for taking the time to reach the Intel Communities Team, seawolf21. I will do my best to assist you further.
When the Brand String test fails, it is basically that the processor's name was not recognized by the Intel® Processor Diagnostics Tool. Please refer to the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/processors/sb/theintelprocessordiagnostict... Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool User Guide page 20.
This does not mean that your processor is defective. In order to complete the test on the IPDT go Tools > Stop Testing On Fail > Off.
Can you please provide us the model of your processor and motherboard?
i will get back to you on board and cpu had a catastrophic accident with that computer so now using one even older i get 600 a month on disability so both machines are dump rescues i want to cry lol won't give up hope though give me a couple days.
Hello! I have the same isue. But also i have problem with temperature monitor. i need to disable both of them in 'tools' before run the test.
monitoring of the temperature works in bios and third party software developer on Windows 10, but it does not with genuine intel processor utility)))
also i have changed all settings in bios that required utility from help paper
actualy i have not much of them:
max cpuid value - disabled
thermal monitor - enabled
c1 control - enabled
speed step - disabled
microcode updation - enabled
execute disable bit - enabled

In this case, if the troubleshooting steps above did not work for you I will highly recommend you to create a new thread explaining your problem. Make sure you include your system configuration and a clear explanation about the issue so we can give you a solution as soon as possible.

For your processor E7200, it is going to fail on Brand String test as your processor is simply too old.
Ignore the error - there is nothing wrong.
