Merhaba,
Hello,
Last week, I purchased a new system with an Intel Core i9-14900 KF processor and MSI liquid cooling. After installing the necessary programs and games, I noticed that the computer case was overheating. I installed a few reliable temperature monitoring programs and found that the CPU temperatures were reaching around 90 degrees Celsius, even when playing a simple game.
I'm concerned that if I try to run video rendering or a more performance-demanding game, the computer will shut down or the CPU will be damaged. This is unacceptable for a PC that cost me around 3500 Euros. I anticipate that the place I bought it from will cause problems if I try to return it.
What should I do now?

Hello Ferdi79,
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.
For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:
- Was it working fine before all of the updates and program installation?
- Did you change any settings inside the BIOS or are you running on default settings?
- What is the temperature reading during idle, while playing games and inside the BIO? You may provide screenshots on this.
- What is the brand and model of your processor cooler?
- What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

- First of all, thank you for your interest.
1- Was it working fine before all of the updates and program installation?
1- I already bought the PC new.
2- Did you change any settings inside the BIOS or are you running on default settings?
2- I have not changed any settings in the bios. The pc was sent to me ready to use. I bought it from an authorized PC store.
3- What is the temperature reading during idle, while playing games and inside the BIO? You may provide screenshots on this.
3- Idle temp is 38 degrees
3- I have seen 100 degrees while gaming.
3- you can easily cook eggs on top of the pc case.
5 What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
5 I just bought a new computer. What solution should I try?
- However, according to the research I did on the internet, all experts say that Intel 13th and 14th generation processors have an overheating problem.
- I don't think it is possible that you are unaware of this issue. I am facing such a problem now because I have not done any research before.
- I think that a big company like Intel should provide an update or a solution to users for this problem.

Hello Ferdi79,
Thank you for the update.
Base on your reply, let me gather more details about the issue that you are reporting.
- 38C during idle is good however for the 100C while gaming, is it just a spike or it stays on that temperature while gaming?
- Have you tried updating the BIOS of your motherboard?
- Are you using a 3rd party CPU cooler? If yes, please provide the brand and model.
By the way, the issue that about 13th and 14th gen processor are publicly stated in the link below:
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi
- Pc runs normally when idle no temperature problems.
- Bios Software is the latest version provided by Asus.
- I use liquid cooling with radiator
- My pc configuration is available in my previous message.
- There is also a photo of the PC case.
- Temperatures in the upper 90s while playing games, partly constant.
- I also checked the air circulation directions of the fans and they are all correct.
- the top and side glass of the pc gets very hot.
- When I notified the seller about the situation, they wrote me the answer I shared below.
Guten Tag,

Hello Ferdi79,
Thank you for the update.
If your basis of the hot temperature is the top of the chassis, there are other components who can also contribute to that heat including the Graphic card and memory.
And also, regarding what your reseller said. Temperature spike are normal. Intel also have this explanation documented in our website:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000035907/processors.html
I suggest to keep observing your system. If you are having performance issues like crashing or restarting due to high temperature. Then it is best to contact your reseller or local Intel Warranty team if you wish to claim warranty.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,

Hello
Thank you for trying to help.
I read in the forum that friends with temperature problems just like mine have started a topic.
now what is important for me is whether the processor reaching these temperatures will be damaged or not ?
I have only seen this problem while playing a game yet, I don't know what will happen if I do processes such as video rendering in the background.
If the processor is damaged, will the intel company be held responsible or the seller ?
Thank you.

Hello Ferdi79,
Thank you for the update.
For the temperature, if the high temperature that you are seeing is just a spike. There is no problem. However if the high temperature reading stays there while you are playing, that is a different story. That can damage the processor if the temperature stays 100 degrees while playing.
By the way, one possible cause of overheating is overclocking and overclocking can void the Warranty of the unit. Please check the link below:
As for your question about Warranty, since this is pre-built. It is best to contact first your reseller. You may also contact your local Intel Warranty if you want to claim warranty with Intel.
Lastly, let me share this link for information about Intel Processor's warranty and to let you know that your processors has an extended warranty:

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Thank you for your concern.
The seller responds as in the text I sent you.
Since intel's own page states that its processor can reach 100 degrees, the seller does not cover this under warranty.
In the end, as usual, it is not the sellers who suffer, but the consumers who pay for it.
Thank you again for your interest.

Hello Ferdi79,
Thank you for the update.
Let me clarify that temperature spikes are okay. However, if the temperature are reaching 100 degrees and it stays there, that is a different story.
Please let us know if you still need assistance.
