I tried configuring a laptop for purchase on the HP web site and even after selecting the Core i-5 4300M processor, the specification on the order still said "No vPro Technology support."
I'm wondering if this is just a glitch in their website or if HP somehow disabled vPro from working on this laptop no matter which CPU it has.
The Intel ARK site says the the 4300M should have vPro support,
http://ark.intel.com/products/76347/ ARK | Intel&# 174; Core™ i5-4300M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz)
Is there more required to purchasing a vPro laptop beyond just selecting a new laptop with a CPU that is vPro-capable according to the ARK site?

Hi Xuser,
Based on the processor specifications, the processor does support the virtualization technology. You can check this information at the following link:
http://ark.intel.com/products/76347/Intel-Core-i5-4300M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_30-GHz?q=i5-4300 http://ark.intel.com/products/76347/Intel-Core-i5-4300M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_30-GHz?q=i5-4300
However, it is important to check with the computer manufacturer if the board inside your unit supports Virtualization Technology. This is because we as Intel® provide the hardware to the computer manufacturers and they will design and create their computers but they also can include limitations in their products.
My best recommendation if you want to get a new laptop with this feature is to confirm with the manufacturer if the vPro Technology is supported in the product.
