Hello Deivid,

Thank you for the reply.

1. Can you provide more details about our issue/request?

I tried to get SMART information by Win32 API DeviceioControl.  But return value is not correct SMART structure.

So, if asked please provide SMART information structure of RST.

2. ask if are using a laptop or a desktop computer?

3. What is the brand and model name of your laptop or motherboard (if desktop)?

I used desktop motherboard, Supermicro  X11SCQ-O.

4. Did you download the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) (if so, where?) or did it come preinstalled?

I downloaded iRST.

I'm developing our product with Supermicro motherboard and iRST.

Best Regards,

Hello RySAP,

Thanks for your patience. In order to continue with the investigation, I would like to confirm the following:

1. Since this is an old system, did you check with Supermicro to confirm that you have the latest drivers and BIOS?

2. Did you check with Supermicro for the recommended BIOS settings?

Hello Deivid,

I'm sorry for late response.

1. Since this is an old system, did you check with Supermicro to confirm that you have the latest drivers and BIOS?

It is difficult to update the BIOS.   We already validated our software on it.

RST version is latest for Windows 10 IOT.  Because Microsoft store cannot be used on Windows 10 IOT.

2. Did you check with Supermicro for the recommended BIOS settings?

Could you tell me which BIOS setting should be check?

Do you mean that I can get SMART information with Win32 API DeviceioControl and if I cannot get it our system is something of our configuration is incorrect?

Hello RySAP,

Thanks for the response. In this case, Supermicro might have a specific configuration for the system in order to work properly which may help to get the correct information.

However, only Supermicro can provide you with the right configuration for their system. Let me know if you were able to get in contact with them.
