I have 2 RAID5 virtual drives installed, each have 4 physical drives of 18.19 TB storage. Last Saturday the RAID5 came accross some disk faults, and one virtual drive went offline. I followed the instruction by chatgpt to delete the virtual drive and create a new one without realizing this is actually the wrong approach. After deleting the virtual drive via element actions, I created a new virtual drive with same settings as before, and I didn't click the initialization or any formatting options.
Are there any chances that I can restore the data from the virtual drive?

Hi Tim_Peng,
Thank you for posting your concern on our community. Can you share more information about your current situation by answering some of my inquiries.
- What is the Intel® RST Driver version installed on the system?
- Is your system a desktop or server
- Would like to clarify, when you say you delete the virtual drive, does it mean you delete the entire virtual drive or did you delete single drive on the virtual drive?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Thanks Dhanniel,
Sorry for the late reply. The answers to you inquiries are as below:
1. The Raid controller firmware version is v007.021.004.000, not sure whether it is the same as the RST Driver.
2. The system is a server running on Ubuntu 20.04.
3. I deleted the entire virtual drive.
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Dhanniel,
I proposed the solution you suggested to my boss, but we decided that it is not viable to backup 60 TB worth of data. Before we figure out a definite safe option to restore the data, we will just leave it as it is for now.
Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim_Peng,
I understand your situation, let me try to raise this with our Engineer and see if there is another workaround for this without backing up 60 TB worth of data.
