RST not working

Im trying to set up SSD Caching, I have a z77 chipset, win 8.1 pro installed with RAID on a HDD, with a SSD not being used.

Problem is, I can open The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology software fine, But when I click on Manage along the top it comes up saying IAStorUI has stopped working, then closes.?

Also on the status screen it just shows "ATAPI device" which is the HDD, not other devices?

I've tired lots of things but cant fix the problem! any ideas?

Hello JPLord, for this behavior these are the recommendation we can provide you:

• Please check there are not partitions on your SSD. If there is any, you would need to delete the volume or the partition. • The SSD needs to be installed on SATA 0.

• I would recommend you to uninstall the current RST, and then restart the system and install the latest Intel® Rapid Storage Technology version available which is 12.8.0.1016 http://.https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23060&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208.1*&DownloadType=Drivers .https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23060&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208.1*&DownloadType=Drivers

• Check if the motherboard needs a BIOS update.

Hi, thanks for this I have made some progress, does RAID have to be 0,1,5 or 10?

Those are the different types of RAID that you can create.
