This is usually a symptom of a drive that is starting to fail. You may be able to get it running again by powering the laptop off, waiting a minute, and then powering it back on - but understand that this doesn't mean that the failure has been avoided; get your data copied off this driver while you can because it *is* going to fail completely soon.
