Hi
After a maintenance of a couple of servers (S2600WT board), only about half of them managed to get an IP address via DHCP on IPMI afterwards.
The BIOS settings were correctly set to dynamic.
We tried static assignment and it worked. But for dynamic (DHCP), we needed to execute a cold reset on the IPMI to bring them back.
Any ideas why this happened and can be avoided for future maintenance cycles?
Thank you for a response, I am thankful for any ideas.
Best,
Maik

Do you know what fw level you were coming from and going to?

thanks for reading my questions and asking for details.
During the maintenance, we did not change the firmware. We rather extended the server by another NIC. We already had the PCIe x710 in and extended by x520.
The firmware stayed at the below levels during that process:
BIOS: 01.01.0008 - ME: 03.00.07.154 - BMC: 01.18.7601 - FRUSDR: 1.06
Any idea why the hardware update of the server triggered random behaviour on the IPMI?
Thank you.

The behavior described is not normal. (of course you knew that or you would not be making this post.)
When you added the x710 card, did you remove the AC from the system?
The system stand-by power is on any time AC is connected.
I am thinking something weird might have occurred if you hot plugged the card.
