3d scanning large items (tables, chairs etc)

Hello forum!

I am looking into the RealSense technology, and from the examples and website its not clear to me if its possible to 3d scan large items well - e.g. items of furniture that typically you would need to walk around while scanning, and can't put on a rotating platform.

Is there any way to do this, has anyone had any success? how long would such a scan take and what is the quality like? Most of the examples I have seen are small objects.

I want to scan such large items and store them in a DB using Java, eventually to display on a website.

thanks!

The larger the object, the more complicated it will be.

In any case, move very slowly.
